We are a specialist team of family and friends who are driven and passionate about providing a fresh quality approach to recruitment.

The Fresh Start team have collectively over 60 years' experience in recruitment and training. Our experience mainly sits within the transport/logistics, construction(CSCS) and warehousing/industrial sectors.

We are definitely not limited to these industry’s and work in other sectors, these are just where the majority of where the 60 years experience lie. The Fresh Start way will work in any sector!

How We Do It?

Our way at Fresh Start is based on quality (over quantity) honesty, flexibility and engagement. Great people are the lifeblood of every great Company and we want to help you find more of them. Results matter and time is precious.

Understanding businesses and their culture is a top priority for the Fresh Start team. We love spending time visiting and learning about the businesses we partner with (even putting in shifts ourselves to get it right).

With our fresh approach and innovative ways we quickly find out what motivates, engages and drives both our candidates and clients with ideal result being a perfect match first time!

Fresh Start can also offer amazing training options for both candidates. This enables candidates to train whilst they earn. In turn clients benefit from temps who are improving their skill sets on an ongoing basis and allows them to potentially further their career with them.

We have clients nationwide, our most well-known to date being AO. Fresh Start have worked with AO for over 10 years supplying new recruits through an assessment process and providing quality training on an ongoing basis.

Meet The Team

Mike - Director

I have experience in many fields but my work life started many years ago in the Army. Living overseas and general Army life taught me many lessons that I believe set me up to run and build successful businesses.

I have a wealth of knowledge in the transport and logistics industry from being a driver myself and now Director of businesses that operate strongly in those sectors. Everything I do is about people whether that be building a future for my 2 children or simply having the best working team around me. Having a team you enjoy working with and can have fun with is key and the team at Fresh Start Im proud to say are all family or friends.

On a lighter note I’m sure many would say Im a workaholic ( true but my kids always come first! Never forget the work life balance ). I am life long devoted Manchester United fan who also enjoys to travel.

Nat - Head of Recruitment

Jan 2022 was the beginning of my Fresh Start journey! After 15 years with the same company I needed a new challenge and fresh start. Im lucky enough to have worked with Mike, Kay and Matt for the past 10 years as a client so it was an easy decision moving to Fresh Start because I knew what made them tick and their values.

We have an amazing team and its such an exciting journey to be a part of. I have always worked in the recruitment, training and engagement field and I love it. Working with people is my passion and seeing them do well is what drives me. Out of work my and my husband are kept busy with our two daughters and two Frenchies. I love Italian food and Prosecco!

Ryan - Recruitment Consultant

Im new to the recruitment game but have years of experience working with people. For the past 11 years I have worked in front line customer service based roles ( Virgin Media and Parcel Force ) I love a challenge and have had to be adaptable in all my roles ( you wouldn’t believe some of my stories from working in peoples homes ! ) Im on a new career path with Fresh Start and already I know this is for me, the challenge I needed. I have a great team beside me and great projects to get my teeth into.

Outside of work I am Manchester United fan and attend almost every game! If I could meet one famous person it has to be Fergie, over a Nando’s would be even better. (that’s my guilty pleasure along with a Tango Ice Blast!)

Shelby - Payroll and Recruitment

I started with Fresh Start the beginning of 2023! Having worked in the recruitment industry since 2013 I have worked in many areas of recruitment from engineering, aviation and industrial. Starting as a resourcer in the recruitment industry I then became a recruitment consultant. After a year or two I wanted to try a change and started as a compliance administrator still working in the recruitment industry, I then got involved with the payroll and worked my way up to the Compliance Manager.

I left the industry and after just over a year knew that it is an industry I just loved to work in so when payroll position come up at Fresh Start Employment I jumped at it and haven’t looked back.

Outside of work I love spending time with my family and making the best memories, eating nice food and cake haha!
